At Sadoff E-Recycling & Data Destruction, we know that our impact is often measured in pounds. How many pounds of electronics did we keep from going to a landfill? How many pounds of electronics were we able to recycle? We keep track of these numbers, but as the e-recycling process can be time-consuming, we often don’t know how much we e-recycled for certain until well after the year has concluded. The numbers from 2022 are in, and we think you will be impressed.

How Much Does Sadoff E-Recycle in a Year?

In 2022, Sadoff E-recycling & Data Destruction managed to recycle 3,756,655 pounds of electronics. To put that in perspective, that is almost as much as the estimated weight of the CERN Large Hadron Collider which is the largest machine ever built with a circumference that measures 17 miles. We are not saying that we could have built the world’s largest machine with all the electronics that we recycled, but maybe we could have tried.

To give that stat a little more perspective, in 2021 we recycled 2,947,856 pounds of electronics, which shows an increase in electronics recycled year over year by 27%. It’s also a 234% increase over our 2019 figure. Needless to say, the amount of electronics we are recycling is increasing rapidly.

What Else Is New With Sadoff E-Recycling & Data Destruction?

Increasing the amount of electronics we recycle is awesome, and continuing to increase the number is a primary goal of ours, but there is so much more that Sadoff is doing to earn and maintain certifications, add more reporting capability, and help our communities.

New Auditing Tools

Sadoff is expanding our own tools by implementing an electronic internal auditing tool that will not only help us continue to meet ISO 14001 standards but will help in identifying areas to improve operations for better environmental outcomes.

Creating the Sustainability Spotlight

One of the new things that we are working on here at Sadoff is our sustainability spotlight. This is a customizable ESG reporting framework that is built to help your supply chain meet its sustainability goals.

Participating in the Library State Park Pass Program

If you are a Wisconsin resident, then you probably already know how amazing our state park system is. Of course, we want to keep them green by disposing of e-waste properly, but we also want more people to get to enjoy them. That is why Sadoff has teamed up with the Wisconsin DNR to help with their Library Start Park Pass program.

This program donates state park passes to multiple libraries throughout the state which will allow more families to visit our treasured state parks. The program lets families check out a state park pass for one day so that they can see the wonders of Devil’s Lake or High Cliff without having to pay for entry.

Continuing to Maintain Our Certifications

In addition to all of the above, Sadoff continues to maintain our certifications including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and R2v3 as well as our i-SIGMA membership and our ITAR registration.

We have also kept our place for the 6th year in a row as one of Wisconsin Green Tier companies. In total, there are 51 companies that are Green Tier participants in Wisconsin. These companies span a wide spectrum of industries including everything from abrasives to wood products. Currently, there are only 2 electronics recyclers that participate in the Green Tier program, and Sadoff is proud to be one of them.
